Sunday 5th September

Welcome to our services today. A special welcome if you are a visitor and we pray God's blessing on you as you join us in worship. The morning service is led by the Rev. Duncan Peters and the evening by the minister, Kenny Boyd. We stand for prayer and singing. The following are the notices for this week.


Sunday 5th September 

11am: Morning service. The Sunday School and crèche meet upstairs during the preaching. Tea and coffee will be served after the service and all are very welcome to stay.

3pm: International housegroup.  

6.30pm: Evening service.

Monday 6th September 

10am-12noon: English classes (women 10am; men 10.30am).

Tuesday 7th September

12.30-2.30pm: 'The Welcome Project' drop-in.

Wednesday 8th September 

7.30pm: Prayer meeting. 

Thursday 9th September

1-2.30pm: 'Bubbles' parents and toddlers' group.

Saturday 11th September 2-5pm: Meeting re Destitute Asylum Seekers at Glasgow City Mission. See newsletter and noticeboard for more details.

Sunday 12th September 

The services will be led by the minister. 

Additional and Advance Notices

  • The Govanhill newsletter for September is available today.
  • The Free Church College opening service is on Monday 6th September at 7.30pm in the Presbytery Hall on The Mound, Edinburgh. All welcome.
  • The Ayr Bible Convention is from Monday to Friday (6th-10th September) of this week. Each meeting begins at 7.30pm in Ayr Free Church (see noticeboard for further details).
  • The parent and toddlers' group ('Bubbles') really needs another regular volunteer to join the team. As many as 20 mums and 20 children attend so it would be good to have someone who can commit to the Thursday afternoon group during the school terms. Anyone interested should speak to Penny Macleod.
  • We give a warm welcome to Martin and Iveta Kacur and their children Sona, Johana and Andrej. Martin is from Slovakia, studying on the Cornhill Training Course and doing his placement with us here in Govanhill.
